Amalgam Melee

For the first time in the UK, Marika Peura presents Amalgam Melee: a performance that examines how the body is shaped by, and implicated in, the mechanisms of white supremacy. On stage, Peura wears pink tsinelas (flip-flops) and a hela belt, a decorative knife belt traditionally worn by men. Drawn from distinct cultural lineages, these objects become charged symbols of heritage, identity, and power.
